It was 2013 and I'd just arrived in Melbourne with a suitcase full of Rubble influenced 60s style pop- sike songs. I'd produced an earlier demo of this song for my short-lived band at the time, Rolloways - and it had a soft, flowery Spanky & Our Gang / Belle & Sebastian kinda sound.
That recording was never released, so I decided to re-record it for this album. I kept the harpsichords, and stacked harmonies, but gave it a nice beefy Brian May style guitar solo in the bridge.
The final (poly) chord is a direct nod to "Hung up on a Dream" by The Zombies - one of my all-time favourite songs.
