GROUND CONTROL (4-Track Demo) - A song recorded and released in 2003 on the Something I Don’t Know EP, presented here in its original form as a 4-track demo. “We “properly” recorded this song with Lindsay Gravina later on, but that recording didn’t capture the same nasty, intense energy as the original demo here. We did it on Luke’s 4-track in a rehearsal room. I remember feeding the drums through a blue Boss compression guitar pedal. The results are very “lo-fi” but, hey, if it works for Cleaners From Venus and Guided By Voices.... also I like the idea of two sides of a 45 representing an evolution of twenty (TWENTY?!? Flippin' heck....) years.”
lyrics
Don’t try to fight what is only good for all
On with your silver suit and we’ll lead you to the port
Six, five, four, drop to the floor
Let the sun bring in the day
Three, two, one, now we’ve just begun
Let the backups fall away
Come on ’n sell your soul
To ground control
Come on ‘n sell your soul
To ground control
Now you’re away, look at the trouble you’ve begun
While you sit back, we bear the brunt of your whole sum
Six, five, four, flock to the door
Let ‘em shout it from the street
Three, two, one let’s try and run
Before they tax our feet
Come on ’n sell your soul
To ground control
Come on ‘n sell your soul
To ground control
Come on ’n sell your soul
To ground control
Come on ’n sell your soul tonight

The album took a while but was well worth the wait. I simply cannot understand why more Australians have not got behind Even. Another cracking set of tunes. xxx Damian Percy
