On family trip to New Zealand, My Grandma and I got caught inside a greenhouse at Pukekura Park in New Plymouth when a massive storm rolled in as we were walking around the botanical gardens together. Hiding from the sudden torrential rainfall that lasted for nearly up to an hour, I penned out a lot of these lyrics in the greenhouse itself. Having recorded a version of this song with my old band ‘Willow Darling’ and it being one of the oldest tracks of mine that I still play today, I thought it would be cool to have a stripped back version on this record, I’ve always liked hearing other bands alternate studio recordings/arrangements of the same song.
lyrics
Can I see you peering by the fountain and the fern?
Is the rain trying to teach me something that I need to learn?
Blinded by the blue sky from visions in the dark
Every morning that I wake I’m right back at the start
Then I know the truth
It’s the darkest thing I do.
Where is my flower?
Where could she be?
My guiding tower through the salt of the sea.
Thought I could conceal you,
Thought I had you buried deep
Still your face it lingers when I lay beneath the sheets
Took an eye for an eye,
Yes that seemed fair
But eyeless we must wander through the ever-changing land
Then I know the truth
There’s more to this than you
Where is my flower?
Where could she be?
My guiding tower through the salt of the sea
Black sand beneath me
While smoke plumes at dawn
My guiding tower oh where could it have gone?

This is the sort of punk album 99% of US acts would give their left nut to put out!! And TR brings an outstanding melodic element and some cracking vocals and lyrics! What a great collection of tunes!!! Get this album up ya, and then pass it on to your gen Z kids, mates!!! Ralph Douglas
